Advocate for the rights of people with disabilities even before the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 was passed.
Worked for over 29 years at Mid-Delta Community Services, Inc., a local community action agency.
Honored as Employee of the Year (1985) at Mid-Delta Community Services, Inc.
Obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (1985).
Volunteer for the Humane Society of the Delta as Web Site Coordinator.
Served as a fundraiser for MDA and as Secretary to the Phillips County Muscle Committee for MDA.
Selected as the first recipient of the MDA Personal Achievement Award.
Appeared in 2 commercials for United Medical which aired statewide and various radio interviews and television vignettes.
Traveled more than some able-bodied people including trips to Alabama, Arizona, where I had the opportunity to fly in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon - Twice, California, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, where I went 750 ft below the surface of the earth into Carlsbad Caverns, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Mexico - Twice which included a cruise on one of the trips.
